Pastors Joseph and Shirley Brooks
Pastor Joseph S. Brooks, Sr. - The Visionary, Elder, Pastor and Founder of New Hope Christian Ministries, is a man called and anointed by God to bring the gospel message to the world. Preaching the message of God’s love and Man’s need to be delivered from the power of sin has been his focus.
It was by Divine appointment that he followed in the footsteps of his parents, Overseer Moses Brooks and Pastor Aretha Brooks, who guided Elder Brooks in the faith when he acknowledged his call into ministry.
Elder Brooks is a dynamic man of vision, leadership, integrity and compassion and articulates a strong statement that offers the only real choice to the problems of the day – salvation through Jesus Christ. His ministry uniquely promotes reconciliation and redemption, which definitely crosses denominational and social lines. His God given anointing to preach and teach the people the love of Christ; penetrating the hardest of hearts, captivating the attention of the restless and convincing the confused that God is able to save anybody.
By way of his ministry, people are discovering their destinies through Jesus Christ. This humble servant is advancing the Kingdom of God in a whole new way and redefining church as we see it today.
Elder Joseph Brooks and his wife Shirley have been married for more than 27 years and have been blessed and are the proud parents of three children: Jay, Steven and Sidney. This couple has also served as surrogate parents for many other children in the church and community.
Elder Brooks has served in many capacities such as Minister of Music, Sunday School Superintendent, Men’s Coordinator, Worship Leader, and other positions as he was called.
A native of Williamsburg, Virginia, Elder Joseph Brooks received his Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies from Fredericksburg Bible Institute, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Pastor, Dr. Shirley Brooks - A native of Roanoke, VA., is the wife of Elder Joseph Brooks and first lady of New Hope Christian Ministries. She has served in several capacities as an exemplary leader and an example of a virtuous woman.
Dr. Brooks received her undergraduate degrees from Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia (Bachelor of Science, Business Education - Cum Laude) and Fredericksburg Bible Institute, Fredericksburg, Virginia (Bachelor of Theology). She received her Master of Religious Education from Fredericksburg Bible Institute, Fredericksburg, Virginia and her Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla, Georgia.
Currently, Dr. Brooks lends her service and talent to many areas. She serves on the Board of Directors for New Hope Christian Ministries, and she is the head of several ministries and organizations.
Dr. Brooks has honed her skills in the capacity of First Lady-God has given her the gift and she has mastered the art of church administration and the significance of Christian education. While serving as First Lady at New Hope, Dr. Brooks has assisted her husband and pastor in birthing ministries in the church and founded WISDOM: Women In Spirit Dedicated to Our Ministry; a women's ministry that works to teach, encourage and guide women to a more intimate relationship with Christ and to advance the Kingdom of God through service within and beyond their inner circles.
Dr. Brooks' mission is to win souls for Jesus Christ, bring reconciliation to those who have strayed away and minister to the special needs of women.

Dr. Shirley Brooks brings with her life, a dedication service to kingdom building and pronouncing blessings upon her anointed ministry of love, hope and healing.
Pastors' Joseph and Shirley Brooks are partners in ministry, as well as in life. God has blessed them with three wonderful children, Jay, Steven, and Sidney. God has truly blessed them as an anointed team as servants of Christ.
